We've developed a platform called the visual interaction platform ( http://www.ipo.tue.nl/vip3/index.html). I would like to evaluate the 3D interface on this platform with other interfaces (2D, 3D or spoken command language) that can perform the task of 3D spatial navigation (like for medical applications). If any of you have references of papers where such comparisons have been performed, that would be great. Currently we have a 3D cross-section picker which allows the user to pick any slice, by moving the picker freely in space, they can save the desired slices and work with them on the wacom tablet that is part of our platform (as a result we support combined 2D and 3D interaction), I am not able to find other platforms where you can combine both 2D & 3D manipulation and navigation. any insights would be helpful, Sriram
